The Worth Bingham Prize honors newspaper or magazine investigative
reporting of stories of national significance Judges will be guided by such factors as the reporting enterprise, obstacles overcome in getting information, accuracy, clarity of analysis and writing style, magnitude of the situation, and impact on the public, including any reforms that may have resulted. The Worth Bingham Prize is paid from the tax-exempt Worth Bingham Memorial Fund. The fund comprises donations from family, friends, classmates, fellow journalists and foundations. The prize for 2007 will be $10,000 and will be presented on February 28, 2008 at the National Press Foundation’s Annual Awards Dinner in Washington, DC.
